FREE DAYTIME ENTERTAINMENT AT HULL MARINA

Hull Marina, the site of a former dock, provides the perfect setting for a weekend Comrade celebration of the city’s proud maritime heritage with open-air performances of Sea Shanties and Sea Songs. The city has shared an affinity with the sea spanning many centuries and examples of traditional barges and sailing craft which once worked the region’s rivers and waterways, including the Humber Keel "COMRADE" and Humber Sloop 'AMY HOWSON' will be on show.

The barge 'SYNTAN' (belonging to the Beverley Barge Preservation Society and which used to be Syntan owned by the Tannery at Beverley) is to be used as a venue again this year. It is a perfect small acoustic venue with a capacity of about 30 people, complete with stairlift for people with mobility problems.

Go aboard HMS Explorer which will be berthed in Hull Marina, close to the quayside on Humber Dock Street

Wander around Hull's old Dock Offices and discover the city's rich and colourful maritime history at the Maritime Museum, including whaling, fishing & shipping displays.

Activities also include street theatre, craft marquees featuring the arts of maritime woodcarving and coopering demonstration.

Stalls include The Coble & Keel Society, RNLI, Sail Training Association, Beverley Barge Preservation Society, Maritime Maps, Hutton Press and the Chantey Cabin.

A free weekend of fun for all of the family!
