LIVERPOOL (U.K.). "Stormalong John" will be upstairs at the Ship and Mitre, Dale Street, from 8.0pm. Come along and have a pint, chat, or if you feel like it...a sing !!. The Ship is a famous real ale pub with a large selection of real ales every day.

APRIL

April 2nd/3rd

SOLIHULL (U.K.). 1st Solihull Real Ale & Shanty Festival. To be held at Solihull Royal British Legion Club, Union Road, B91 3DH from 3pm to midnight each day. Tickets £7 each day. Artistes appearing will include Monkey's Orphan, One Sheet Short, Monkey's Fist and Bitter End.
There will be 15 real ales and ciders together with a full range of other alcoholic drinks and beverages. Food available throughout. CDs and books for sale.

SHOTLEY, SUFFOLK (U.K.). A Shanty Festival is to be held Shotley Marina in Suffolk on Good Friday, Easter Saturday & Sunday. The Marina is part of the old "HMS Ganges" site at the confluence of the Rivers Stour & Orwell, opposite Felixstowe & Harwich with plenty of maritime activity and close to 'Constable Country' if you get fed up with too many shanties!
The shanty festival is part of the Old Gaffers' Association Rally at the Marina and artistes so far appearing include, Shanty Jack, Johnny Collins, Hans Weehuizen, Trim Rig & A Doxy, Capstan Full Strength and The Naze Shantymen.

MEDEMBLIK (Netherlands). International Shanty Festival “Overseas,” with groups from Britain, Germany and Holland.
On three stands in the finest pubs in Medemblik the following groups will perform: Johnny Collins, The Cromer Smugglers, de Wangeroogers, schippRatz, Armstrong’s Patent, het Andijker Havenkoor and, of course Compagniezangers.
It will be a great night of shanty-singing; entrance is free.

BRIXHAM (U.K.). Brixham Pirate & Shanty Festival 2009. A Bank Holiday Weekend of Swashbuckling Fun, Music and Piratical Antics to suit all ages. A World record attempt :- Most pirates in one gathering on Sunday, 3rd May at 2pm.
